Bac Ninh is located in North Vietnam. It is surrounded by Bac Giang to the north, Hung Yen to the south, Hai Duong to the east, and Hanoi to the west. The main ethnic groups living in this area are the Kinh, Tay, and Nung.

Bac Ninh’s climate is divided into four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The average temperature is 24° C.
